Employer Assistance Programme

Nottingham Counselling Service (NCS) is an independent, registered charity established in 1977, delivering high-quality, inclusive, and diverse counselling services. NCS is accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and offers a range of therapy services.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and Their Benefits.
Recent studies on Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) offered by external providers, including counselling services, highlight several key findings:
  1. Enhanced Employee Outcomes: Utilisation of EAPs has been found to improve levels of presenteeism (employees being present and functioning well at work) and overall employee functioning.
  2. Mixed Absenteeism: While employers expect workers to miss a certain number of workdays each year, excessive absences can equate to decreased productivity and can have a major effect on companies including finances, and moral.
  3. Presenteeism as a Key Indicator: Presenteeism demonstrated a stronger effect size and greater improvement than absenteeism, making it a more reliable variable for assessing the effectiveness of EAPs.
Why Focus on Presenteeism?
  • Research indicates that presenteeism improvements have a more significant and consistent impact.
  • Better Work Environment: Enhancing presenteeism contributes to a more engaged and productive workforce, fostering a positive work environment.
Interested in Improving Workplace Wellness?
If you are an employer looking to reduce absenteeism, improve presenteeism, and create a workplace that promotes care and wellness,
By investing in EAPs and counselling services, you can support your employees' mental health and well-being, leading to a healthier, more productive workplace.
