Our counsellors are from a diverse range of backgrounds and they are experienced in working with people from all walks of life. They have excellent listening skills and are trained to listen to you completely without judgement to help you understand your current difficulties, past experiences and concerns about the future.

Our counsellors are not trained to give you advice, tell you how you should feel, or what you should do. They are trained to help you make your own choices and decisions about the changes you want to make in life.

At Nottingham Counselling Service, many of our counsellors are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). All other counsellors have further or advanced training. They are all checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

All counsellors are professionally supervised and work within the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Profession as presented by the BACP.

As we have a diverse range of counsellors, we offer a wide variety of approaches and methods of counselling, known as modalities. Click here to find out more about the modalities of counselling.
