Our Trustees Apply to be a Trustee Nottingham Counselling Service has a board of trustees comprised of six members who meets up ten times a year. The members are responsible for the strategic directions and policies of the charity. The members are from a range of professional backgrounds relevant to the work of Nottingham Counselling Service. Board of Trustees/Directors pen portrait (2022/23) Dr Maeve Fitzpatrick, Chair- Maeve is Research Development Manager for the Americas, at the University of Nottingham. Prior to that she lectured in Operations Engineering at the University of Limerick, where she was responsible for research development for the Centre for Enterprise Research. Dr Maria Augusta Arruda, Trustee – Maria is Research Development Manager UKRI, Research and Business Development Network Lead and Chair of the BAME staff Network at the University of Nottingham. Prior to that she was Pharmacology Scientist. Hilary Rapinet, Trustee - Hilary is a senior HR practitioner with 20+ years of experience in global HR leadership roles in private sector companies based in Nottingham. She has contributed to companies of all sizes through periods of growth. Her greatest areas of interest are people, cultures and teams. Her expertise is also in compliance including Health and Safety. Christopher Sims, Trustee - Chris is Head of Policy Impact at the University of Nottingham’s Institute for Policy and Engagement. He previously worked in a range of policy-oriented roles at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, City & Guilds, Stonewall and the Big Lottery Fund. Chris is also a trustee of the Lace Market Theatre in Nottingham. Leslie McDonald, Executive Director & Company Secretary - A senior board level director with over of 35 years’ experience in variety of management roles within the Community and Voluntary Sectors. He is a member of the Nottingham City, Health and Wellbeing Board (HWBB) and Integrate Care Partnership (ICP), representing the voice of the Third Sector. Leslie is also Chairman of New Arts Exchange, a Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation (NPO), promoting arts from diverse cultures with £2m turnover.
